The narrator to this particular episode sounds like she needs a good does of anti-depressants so maybe the fate of existance is a bit much for her. The Universe is currently expanding (into itself, before anyone asks what is it expanding into), instead of recolapsing into a big crunch, negative gravity (in al its variety of names) would appear to be the stronger influence and is making a crunch unlikely.
